It's taken me some while to get around to reviewing this as it's a huge RTS/tactical game with a pretty steep learning curve. Pretty sure you won't be disappointed, just be prepared to take time to scope out the game properly so you can get the most enjoyable gaming experience. If you love RTS games but haven't been impressed with what's on offer on the WWII scene out there, then give this a try. In this set there is also the DLC packs, which also add even more content. All the buildings can be destroyed with the right type of units, and it really makes the game a lot more realistic, but it also adds a welcome layer of complexity to the game play. What I really enjoy most about this particular RTS game is that the environment and maps can also affect the game. There are also multiplayer options, 1v1,4v4 and even 8v8, and some of the maps are just huge. The content available is huge, and the game isnt easy to play, as the battle are fast, furious and incredibly diverse in the sense of the sheer amount of units available that can drastically shape the battle for you, or against you.

Since I last played I have the latest top spec ATI graphics card, which has really improved the graphical experience playing this game. During lockdown it has given me another opportunity to play the game again. I installed this game when I first received it, but I struggled to get into the game due to the significant game features and functions there are to learn. Men of War would probably benefit from dropping the backup story and, with it, the cover price. Even if some of these explanatory tidbits are useful, they would be better off relegated to a separate appendix section. Personally, my intelligence was vaguely insulted when the book felt the need to explain to me what KIA stands for. Both segments also suffer from an endless slew of editorial captions that attempt to explain various acronyms and military terms. There isn't a strong enough connection between the reader and the characters, and this no tension as they run up against one threat after another. Jonathan Vankin's segment isn't terrible, but it is extremely generic where Ivan Brandon's main story finds its own voice.
#Men of war 2 review series
Unfortunately, the backup feature continues to hold the series back somewhat.

It's the strong coloring that keeps the art humming along even in the lesser sequences. The art is also frequently gorgeous, particularly during Rock's aerial adventure, though certain panels suffer from a loss of detail. Scenes like this, as well as various smaller touches in the dialogue and plotting, help distinguish this book among other military-themed comics. Brandon writes this exchange very well, presenting a far different take on a familiar villain. Issue #2 draws the reader's attention even more than issue #1 in some ways, as it features Rock's first meeting with a superhuman component.
